Operation Love ReUnited

I am so proud to be blogging this!!! I have joined the Operation Love ReUnited team and will be offering military families a very special gift. If your family member is about to be deployed, is deployed, or will be returning soon, please let me know. I am the only photographer with 100 miles to offer this service through OpLove. Kinda cool, isn't it?

I am also offering a new HERO package.. which includes a pre-deployment family session, homecoming capture, a 5x7 album of both sessions, and half off a 20x30 image of your choice. The HERO package is complimentary because of this great program.

If your family member is deployed currently, you are eligible for the Red, White, and Blue Package which includes a complimentary session and a copy of the proofs from the session sent overseas (or wherever your loved one is located) at no charge at all.

If you have questions, give me a call.

Today is a very special day at our house. It's my brother Josh's birthday, my son Austin's birthday, and my Grandpa's birthday. Isn't that cool, 3 generations on one day?!

The Herr Family

Meet Mason, Jaden and Katelyn!

I work with their mom at the hospital and we've been trying to have this shoot for a few weeks now, but something always came up, most of the time it was weather related! Today it was far cooler than the weather forcast said earlier in the week, but the kids and Cara and even their dog Chloe were troopers and we did the shoot at Edmundson Park. The lighting was beautiful and I was thankful to have enough shadowing to do some black and whites!

Here's Mason

Here's Katelyn..

Here's Jaden

HA! a fun one! way to go Katelyn taking a sucker punch :)

Wedding package titles

I'm starting to add weddings to the list of kinds of photography I do, but I need some help from my blog viewers. I've decided to name the packages after 90's-2000's song titles. I need 3 titles, so vote on what you'd choose if you were me..

Have fun, my husband and I had some fun deciding what to include and of course not to include in the list LOL LOL LOL!

Amber and Jason

This is Amber and Jason, I shot this wedding with Erik with Inspired Images, he has a link on the right hand side of the blog in my favorite blogs, so go check him out. I shot some getting ready images of Amber at her request, she was such a beautiful bride, I loved her gown and sash, they were perfect for a fall wedding, although it felt like early January outside. When the bride was getting ready, the bride's mom received a package, inside was a note that said, 3 daughters, 3 weddings, 3 diamonds, and it had a diamond necklace inside. The MOB was really touched and instantly in tears, it was a great moment one of the best surprises I've seen at a wedding this year for sure!
Here are some pictures of their day. Have a great time on your honeymoon Amber and Jason, it was a pleasure working with you.

Corey

It was soooooo cold today when I was taking Corey's senior pictures. You wouldn't think 40 degrees with a breeze would be frigid, but it is.. trust me! My camera was acting up a little bit because it was super cold out, so I had to take it back to the car to warm up a few times.

Corey had 4 friends Josh Curry, Nick Mauer, Zach Greenhalgh, and Billy Moore to take some pictures with him and they were fresh from the car wash.. yes, the car wash!! Corey's car was a little bit wet still, to his mom's dismay but Corey didn't have a Shammy to dry it with, so we went with it. Hopefully his doors don't freeze shut tonight! The highlight of the car series is when 2 of Corey's friends decided to do burnouts. I have a highlight picture that was requested of the yellow Mustang.

The maroon car was pretty cool doing a burnout too.

We also did the "mirror shot" with the outside mirror and Corey.

Thanks Corey and all of your friends for being sports with the cold weather.. Also for taking the girly business cards, since that's all I had left to give 'ya.. Good luck with the clutches and tires for your cars too!

Okay, here's one last sneak peek, I'm ordering Corey's proofs tomorrow. I have several favorite images. I can't wait to show them to you guys!

Happy Birthday Grace

November 3rd is my daughter Grace's birthday. She is 6 years old, the same age as her brother for a little over a month since they're 10 months apart in age. He figured this out yesterday and said "she can't be 6 like me, she's boring!"

Cameron

Remember the little lion in the Halloween pics of my kids posted below? I got to take pictures of her today with her family!!! She's my niece and I may be biased but she's the cutest little lion ever!!!

The leaves at Keomah are absolutely gorgeous and a real bright yellow right now and I'd guess they're at peak color.

I got tons of great shots, here are just a few guys!

Here are some family shots with their dog Keena.

And just one of Keena and Josh. Josh, I think Keena's hair looks great for this shot !

I told 'ya she was cute!

The Ericksons

Meet the Ericksons! Krishandra, Daniel, Lance, and Abner. The Ericksons were referred by the Wheelers who I have blogged about before. I took some pictures of them by their home in Pella which had a large tree that had lots of leaves that had falled already, then we traveled to the Central Campus, where we took a few pictures at a neat bridge and some of their flowery areas, then we traveled to a field with lots of hay bales. I had a great time at the shoot getting to know you all, and I did get a few where Abner was smiling. He's really fast with his smiles.

This is Lance.

This is Abner.. See.. I got a smile!

I couldn't wait to add another picture for you guys, I got some great stuff of your family. This was the last series of images I got little Abner was very independant and did not want his brother's help walking, but I did capture this before Abner pulled his hand away from his brother. If you look closely, you can see Lance is concentrating really hard and even has his tongue out a little bit. Sooo cute! Hopefully your proof book will get here soon. I can't wait to show it to you! This one has a poem on it.. I couldn't resist. Hopefully you can read it on the blog here, but it says There's nothing like the love of a brother.

Mary and Tim

Mary and Tim were a great couple. They had been together since high school and Mary had liked him since sixth grade! It was another gorgeous day for a wedding. The temperature was great and there was very little wind! These were shot again with Erik. Follow this link to his blog with more pictures Inspired Images Here are some pics from their day. I had the pleasure of taking pictures of Mary and her bridesmaids getting ready. I've always wanted to shoot one of the dresses with the laces up the back and I finally got to!

Here are Mary's shoes..

Mary wanted to stop at a field so we could get some pictures. Here's the classic jump shot. The farmer came by and honked at us on his tractor!

The reception was at the Holiday Inn in Des Moines. Here's a great silhouette of the bride and groom. I love this shot!

Here's one of them arriving at the reception hall
